1. Downloading by Compact Flash or Serial Link

The Compact Flash memory card provides a convenient and rapid means to access images from the camera. By using a CF Card adapter, the compact flash card can be used in a PC Card slot, as found on many Apple and Windows laptop computers. The Compact Flash card appears as an additional disk drive.

For desktop PC users who do not have a PC Card slot, an alternative is to use a Compact Flash reader that will connect to the parallel port or USB interface.

In the case when a PC Card slot or adapter is not available, the Serial link for both Mac and PC offers convenient access to the images whilst the card remains in the camera (Later cameras also use USB).

The camera appears as a disk drive on your desktop (MAcOS) or under "My Computer" (Windows) and image files can be dragged from it and dropped onto the desktop, and imaging application or another disk drive.

It is recommended that you use the camera’s AC adapter when transferring images using the serial link, to ensure that the power is maintained during the download period.
