1. Making the most of your batteries

The E-300, like many full-function digital cameras demands a high current from its' power source. If using the LCD screen, the camera can be thought of as having the battery life similar to that of a powerful torch. Even Alkaline batteries (known as type LR6) are not entirely suited for this kind of device which draws 550mA without the LCD on and 780mA with the LCD on. The Lithium L91 type AA size cell is ideal for use in a high-current digital camera and this type of battery is becoming more widely available. These cells are light in weight, last approximately four times longer than the Alkaline type and are very consistent in performance at all normal operating temperatures.
If using Alkaline batteries, it is worthwhile considering them as "film" - have a new set ready whenever you are going out to take a set of pictures.
