2. Using the 'Multi-Shot 16' setting.

The Coolpix 2500 is able to take 16 'thumbnail' shots and display them on a single frame.
This function enables the user to take 16 consecutive shots which will be displayed in one 1600x 1200 image, with each small image being 400x 300 in size, this can be used to capture moving objects and display the motion on the one frame. (Image 1)

Selecting the 'Multi-Shot 16' setting from the Continuous mode within the Shooting menu displays on screen the symbol shown below.
Note: To adjust the 'Continuous' setting the camera has to be in shooting mode 'M' - Manual. How do I adjust this setting?

Screen shot 1. Multi-shot 16 'circled'.

The flash is cancelled automatically when 'Multi-Shot 16' is selected, so sufficient light has to be available; the camera will automatically adjust the ISO which will help to reduce the chances of camera shake which maybe evident from a slow shutter speed when the available light is insufficient.
Both of these automatic functions can be seen on the cameras screen when they are activated; both have been circled on 'screen shot 2' below.

Screen shot 2. ISO and camera shake.

When the ISO has been increased by the camera the ISO indicator appears on the left of the screen (), when the shutter speed is reduced the hand indicator appears at the top right of the screen () indicating 'hand-shake' may be caused by the slower shutter speed.
