1. Creating small pictures for distribution via e-mail. The
Coolpix 2000 can create a small picture, from a previously captured
image, at the press of a button. When the image is being viewed in full
screen playback and the 'small pic' button is pressed (image 1), a
message appears on the monitor screen.

Image 1. Small pic button (also self-timer
button) highlighted. |
On the LCD screen you are asked to confirm that you require the
camera to produce a small picture. When this action is confirmed the
small image is added as the last image recorded.

Image 1. Original image. |

Image 2. Small Picture created using the
Coolpix 2000. |
Both of the above images have been reduced in physical size by 25%.
The actual small picture is approximately that of Image 1, they have
been reduced so a comparison can be made.
The file names of images created using the small picture function
start "SSCN" and are followed by four-digits; from 0001 to 9999. These
numbers are automatically assigned by the camera. To reset the file
numbering to 0001 the card should formatted; care should be taken to
ensure that all required images have first been transferred to the
computer as all data will be deleted when the format is complete.
Note: Even if the original image has been taken in NORMAL
mode, the small picture will always be set to BASIC and 320 x 240 pixels
in size.
This size is ideal for viewing full frame on most monitors and for
distributing via e-mail or publishing on the web. |
