6 Compensating for non-compatible lenses (vignetting)

Certain non-compatible lenses will produce a degree of vignetting (shadow around edge of frame). If the subject is static, try making an exposure of the background first and importing it into Photoshop to make a negative mask. This can then be used to cancel out the vignetting on the subject exposure.

This technique is particularly appropriate for microscope photography.
