For photographers who wish to release the shutter of the D-1 by
remote control , the Nikon accessory
Infrared Remote Control ML-3 will allow remote shutter release over a
maximum distance of approximately 8 metres.
The ML-2T transmitter (shown inset) allows control of the ML-3
receiver from a range of approximately 100 metres.

The D- can also be triggered by a computer running Nikon
Capture, using a Firewire (1394) cable connection.
Firewire has a maximum distance of 14 feet (3.5 metres).
