5 Setting Up Nikon View for use with a CF Card (Mac OS)

The way that the image files and thumbnails are displayed changes according to whether the "PC Card Access" in the Nikon View Control panel is checked or unchecked. (see right).
  • When the box is checked, the CF card appears on the desktop with the "Nikon Digital Camera"  icon.
  • When the CF card is opened, the folders on the Card have the  Nikon View style of appearance.
  • In the Card root directory, an icon "Browse Thumbnails" appears.

If the box is unchecked, then the CF card and its contents appear and behaves like a normal hard disk. In this case (shown right), the card is connected by a San Disk™ USB reader, so the CF card is identified by the San Disk™ logo.

. If the card was inserted in the PCMCIA slot of a PowerBook, a normal MacOS disk icon would be seen.
