3. Checking an image on the TFT monitor

The D-1 monitor screen shows the full dimension of the image on the shortest dimension, but clips of about 5% at each end along the longest direction. This is because the image  (CCD)  aspect ratio and the monitor aspect ratio are not the same.

This fact is important to remember when using the display to evaluate if enough of the subject has been captured within the frame. The example, below illustrates this effect. The light bands indicate (approximately) the areas of the image which are not visible in the monitor.
